Holiday Hyacinth in Glass

• Light

Place your hyacinth in bright, indirect light. A windowsill with soft daylight is ideal. Avoid direct hot sun, which can make the blooms fade faster.

• Water

If the bulb is sitting above stones or moss (not planted in soil), keep the water level just touching the roots—not the bulb itself.
• Add a little water when the roots look dry or the level drops.
• Never submerge the bulb, or it may rot.

• Temperature

Hyacinths prefer cooler rooms. They bloom longer when kept away from heaters, fireplaces, or direct warm airflow.

• Rotation

Turn the vase every few days so the stem grows straight and doesn’t lean toward the light.

• Support (if needed)

As the flower grows tall, it can become top-heavy. If it starts leaning, place it near a wall for support or tie a soft ribbon loosely around the stem.

• After Blooming

Once the blooms fade, the bulb won’t rebloom again indoors. You can compost it—or, if you have a garden, plant it outdoors for possible blooms in future years.
